#23 – Make Your Own Moves: Julia Eda Shemesh on Movement as Medicine, Birth, Motherhood, and Creative Autonomy

Katia Khomich Season 1 Episode 23

Those of you who know me – know that I love dancing, I love movement. And I was so excited to have Julia Eda Shemesh on this podcast.

Julia Eda Shemesh is teaching movement as medicine, as a language, as a tool to claim creative autonomy. She is a life-long dancer, but at some point she had to drop that identity – and become someone who is bringing women back home to their moving bodies as the source of their wisdom, power and freedom.

She does this via nature immersion retreats in the Italian Alps, group programs, and private mentorship. She creates and holds spaces where spontaneous, creative and self-healing forces emerge from women’s moving bodies.

We talk about birth, motherhood, somatic practices, movement and stillness, where do we even begin when we want to explore movement as medicine.

Please follow Julia on Instagram @jujueda, check out her website: https://www.movewithjuju.com/, email her julia@movewithjuju.com.
